ACC releases women’s schedules; UVA with 17 opponents that played in postseason

The Atlantic Coast Conference released its 2023-24 women’s basketball conference schedule on Tuesday. Virginia will play 18 ACC regular-season games, including nine contests at John Paul Jones Arena.

The Cavaliers will square off against four regional opponents both home and away (Duke, NC State, North Carolina and Virginia Tech), five teams only at home (Notre Dame, Miami, Syracuse, Clemson and Pittsburgh) and five teams solely on the road (Georgia Tech, Florida State, Boston College, Louisville and Wake Forest).

Additionally, tipoff times for Virginia’s home non-conference games were also announced Tuesday.

2023-24 Schedule

ACC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

The 2024 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament will be held March 6-10 at Greensboro Coliseum. Greensboro will host the tournament for the 24th time in the last 25 years. For the second consecutive year, ACC Network will be the exclusive broadcast home for the first four days of the tournament. The championship game will air on ESPN or ESPN2.

TEAM HIGHLIGHTS

  • Virginia’s full season schedule features 25 unique opponents, 17 of which made postseason play in 2022-23. Virginia’s non-conference schedule was announced last month.
  • Amaka “Mox” Agugua-Hamilton enters her second season as Cavaliers’ head coach in 2023-24.
  • Virginia returns eight players from last year’s squad, including All-ACC second team selection Camryn Taylor. UVA received an invite to the 2023 WNIT.
  • Last season, the Cavaliers garnered their first national ranking – No. 25 in the USA Today Coaches Poll – since the 2011-12 season.
  • Transfers Jillian Brown, Paris Clark and Taylor Lauterbach join the list of newcomers, which include first years Kymora Johnson, Olivia McGhee and Edessa Noyan.
  • Team captain Sam Brunelle, Johnson and McGhee are from the Charlottesville-area.

SEASON TICKETS

Season tickets are on sale now with general admission tickets available for $50 each and reserved seats for $80 each. Faculty and staff receive a 20 percent discount on up to four tickets.

PICK 4 MINI PLAN

Fans can choose two games from the following: Oklahoma, Duke, Notre Dame, North Carolina, or Virginia Tech and two games from the rest of the schedule. Mini plans provide the flexibility for the fans to pick the games they want to attend, early access to conference games, and receive a discount compared to purchasing single-game tickets. Packages start at $25 per person. The mini plan goes on sale Tuesday, Oct. 10 to season-ticket members and Virginia Athletics Foundation (VAF) donors, and the public on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 9 a.m.

GROUP TICKETS

Discounted group tickets are available for all games for group sizes of 20 or more. Fans save 20 percent off the single-game price and can select conference games ahead of the public on-sale. Ticket prices vary based upon the seating area and opponent. Group tickets go on sale Tuesday, Oct. 10 to season-ticket members and VAF donors, and the public on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 9 a.m.

SINGLE-GAME TICKETS

Non-conference games go on sale Tuesday, Oct. 10 to season-ticket members and VAF donors, and the public on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 9 a.m. ACC regular-season games will go on sale Tuesday, Nov. 28 to season-ticket members and VAF donors, and the public on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 9 a.m. General admission tickets are $8 or $10 each depending on the game and reserved seats are $12 or $15.

HOW TO PURCHASE TICKETS

Tickets can be purchased 24/7 on UVAtix.com. Fans can also purchase tickets during normal business hours in-person at Bryant Hall inside Scott Stadium or by calling the ticket office at 434-924-8821. The box office opens at John Paul Jones Arena for ticket purchases beginning 60 minutes prior to the event. Fans are encouraged to purchase in advance to save time and money.

PEPSI BLUE-WHITE SCRIMMAGES

The Virginia men’s and women’s basketball Pepsi Blue-White Scrimmages will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14 at John Paul Jones Arena at 1:30 p.m.

The event will begin with the women’s scrimmage followed by the men’s annual intrasquad scrimmage. Admission and parking are free for both events. Seating is general admission and first come, first served. Gates will open at 12:30 p.m.
