Is visiting Florida corner down to Virginia vs. Nebraska?
By Jerry Ratcliffe
Among the visitors this weekend to Virginia football will be one of the Cavaliers’ main recruiting targets.
Amare Sanders, a 6-foot-2 cornerback from Miami, Fla., is making his official visit to UVA. Sanders, a 3-star from Gulliver Prep, likes the Cavaliers’ coaches, academics and the culture of the Virginia program.
He is coached by former UVA player Earl Sims, who played for Al Groh at Virginia. Current Cavaliers kicker, Will Bettridge, is a Gulliver Prep grad, as well as late UVA player D’Sean Perry.
Sanders has a ton of offers from solid football programs, including Nebraska, Miami, Auburn, Florida State, JMU, Florida, Duke, Oregon State, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Liberty, Louisville, Indiana and Illinois. According to the national recruiting websites, Sanders is a Nebraska lean.
