UVA loses Top 100 Singleton, focuses on D.C.’s Cam Ward

Tony Bennett is down to one prospect for Virginia’s last scholarship in the 2025-26 recruiting class.
Tre Singleton, who was in town for UVA’s Blue-White scrimmage last weekend, has committed to Northwestern. Singleton, a 6-foot-8, 4-star forward, announce his decision on his Twitter X account on Wednesday. He is the highest rated recruit in Northwestern’s modern era.
Singleton chose the Wildcats over Virginia, Purdue, Louisville, Notre Dame and Clemson. He is a stretch 4 or 3.
That leaves Virginia with one possibility for its remaining scholarship: 6-7 small forward Cam Ward from Washington, D.C.
Ward recently cut his final list to four: UVA, Michigan State, Kansas State and Maryland. He has expressed that he will announce his decision on Oct. 30.
A consensus top-50 player by all the major recruiting services, Ward eliminated Texas, Tennessee, Florida State, Notre Dame, Arkansas, Villanova, Iowa, Marquette, Syracuse and others.
