Defensive coordinator John Rudzinski’s defense got a boost on Wednesday afternoon when Virginia gained a commitment from Baylor pass rusher Matthew Fobbs-White, according to the player’s agent.

The 6-foot-3, 235-pound Louisiana native played for two years at Tulane before transferring to Baylor for the 2025 season. Fobbs-White played in 12 games and started three for the Bears, 387 snaps, 18 tackles and 1 TFL. He ranked No. 5 on Baylor’s defense overall with a 68.3 grade from PFF, but was No. 2 on pass rush with a 72.2 grade.

While at Tulane, Fobbs-White posted a 91.4 pass-rushing grade for the Green Wave in 2024 with 7.5 TFL, 4 sacks and 15 pressures.
