Virginia basketball got some good news Monday. Sensation point guard Chance Mallory is coming back for next season, his second year in the Cavaliers program.

Mallory, a Charlottesville native who grew up in the shadows of Mr. Jefferson’s University had always dreamed of being UVA’s point guard. Now, he has the opportunity to become a significant player in the Cavaliers future.

Lots of Wahoo fans were surprised at how Mallory performed as a true first year this past season, coming off the bench in all 36 games. He averaged 9.3 points per game, averaged 3.7 rebounds and recorded 57 steals, while shooting 42.4 percent from the field, 34.5 percent from the 3-point arc (39-113) and 77.5 percent from the free throw line.
