Washington State football player Bryce Beekman suffered an accidental death from acute intoxication of two drugs according to the Whitman County Coroner’s Office in Pullman, Wash.

Beekman, 22, was the older brother of Virginia basketball signee Reece Beekman, of Baton Rouge, La.

Bryce Beekman, who was a starting senior safety for the Cougars, died March 23 after Pullman police received a 911 call from the player’s apartment, reporting that he was suffering from breathing problems. Beekman was found dead by first responders.

According to coroner Annie Pillers, Beekman’s death was a result of combining fentanyl and promethazine. No other details were available from the press release.

Fentanyl is a pain reliever used to treat advanced cancer patients, while promethazine is used for allergy reaction.

The GoFundMe page designed to help the Beekman family with medical and other expenditures has reportedly raised more than $31,000.
