ACC releases UVA conference schedule for 2021-2022

uva basketballThe Atlantic Coast Conference released the 2021-22 men’s basketball conference schedules on Thursday night on the ACC Network. Defending ACC regular-season champion Virginia will play 20 ACC regular-season games, including 10 contests at John Paul Jones Arena.

ACC Home Schedule

The Cavaliers’ home ACC schedule includes contests against Pitt (Dec. 3), Clemson (Dec. 22), Virginia Tech (Jan. 12), Wake Forest (Jan. 15), Louisville (Jan. 24), Boston College (Feb. 1), Miami (Feb. 5), Georgia Tech (Feb. 12), Duke (Feb. 23) and Florida State (Feb. 26). Four of UVA’s 10 ACC home games will be played on Saturday.

ACC Road Schedule

Virginia’s road schedule consists of games at Syracuse (Jan. 1), Clemson (Jan. 4), North Carolina (Jan. 8), Pitt (Jan. 19), NC State (Jan. 22), Notre Dame (Jan. 29), Duke (Feb. 7), Virginia Tech (Feb. 14), Miami (Feb. 19) and Louisville (March 5).

Television Exposure

The Cavaliers will play nine league games on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU, including ACC Big Monday contests vs. Louisville (Jan. 24), Duke (Feb. 7) and Virginia Tech (Feb. 14) on ESPN. Nine contests will be televised on the ACC Network, including the Cavaliers’ conference opener against Pitt (Dec. 3).

Team Highlights

Virginia returns starters Kihei Clark and Reece Beekman from last year’s ACC regular-season championship team that posted a 13-4 league record and 18-7 overall mark en route to its seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.

A limited number of single-game tickets will likely be available for each game with additional tickets available for home games when UVA classes are not in session. Single game ticket sales will begin during the month of October, subject to availability. Fans can contact the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-542-UVA1 (8821) for more information on tickets. Fans can also purchase tickets online at UVATix.com or in person at the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium. The Cavaliers host Navy in their home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 9.

Pepsi Blue-White Scrimmages

The Virginia men’s and women’s basketball Pepsi Blue-White Scrimmages will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16 at John Paul Jones Arena. Start time for the event will be announced after the ACC releases kickoff time for Virginia’s Homecomings football game against Duke.

This year’s format will feature the women’s team starting the event with a scrimmage followed by the men’s scrimmage. The annual Meet the Teams Day at the conclusion of the men’s scrimmage will not be held. Admission is free for both scrimmages. Seating is general admission and first come, first serve. Gates will open 60 minutes prior to the event.
