Virginia’s Danny Kaelin, who served as backup quarterback to starter Chandler Morris this past season, has entered the transfer portal.

Kaelin, who transferred from Nebraska to Virginia with four years of eligibility, played in seven games this season, passing for 339 yards while completing 30 of 52 passes (57.7). His most extensive playing time came in a start vs. Wake Forest when Morris was sidelined by injury. In that game, Kaelin was 18 for 28 for 145 yards. He threw an interception that ended the game in a 16-9 loss.

It isn’t known if Kaelin heard something that may indicate Morris has been approved for an extra year of eligibility or if the Cavaliers are close to signing another quarterback from the transfer portal.
