One of Virginia’s players who entered the transfer portal has apparently found a new basketball home, while another has narrowed his list.

Francisco Caffaro, known to Wahoo fans as “Papi,” plans to commit to Santa Clara. The popular UVA grad student tweeted a photograph of himself wearing a Broncos uniform on his Twitter account and wrote: “Go Broncos.”

Caffaro is a 7-foot-1, 254-pound center from Sante Fe, Argentina, who appeared in 20 games for the Cavaliers this season, with three starts. He averaged 2.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game, while shooting 75 percent from the field.

He finished his career at Virginia with 239 points, 242 rebounds, 18 blocked shots and 14 assists, playing in a total of 92 games.

Santa Clara, coached by former NC State coach Herb Sendek, finished this season 23-10 (third in the WCC) and lost in the NIT to Sam Houston.

Meanwhile, another former UVA big man, 6-11 Kadin Shedrick, told On3’s Joe Tipton that he will decide among the following five schools: Duke, Texas, Missouri, Kansas State and Xavier. He will visit Texas on April 18 and Missouri on April 19.
