Logan Michaels was included on the initial 69-member watch list for the 2021 Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award.

Seven pitchers combined for a four-hit shutout as Virginia (7-5) claimed a 7-0 win over Richmond (5-3) on Tuesday at Disharoon Park.

No. 16 Virginia (5-3, 1-2 ACC) will begin a three-game series at Florida State (2-4, 0-3 ACC) on Friday (March 5). First pitch for the opener is set for 6 p.m. and will air live on ACCNX.

No. 16 Virginia (5-3) scored in all but two turns at the plate in an 11-1 victory over George Washington (0-1) on Tuesday at Disharoon Park.

No. 12 Virginia (4-3, 1-2 ACC) handed North Carolina (6-1, 2-1 ACC) its first loss of the season after a 3-2 victory in the series finale at Boshamer Stadium on Sunday (Feb. 28). All three games in the series were decided by one run.

North Carolina (6-0, 2-0 ACC) clinched the weekend series with a 2-1 victory over No. 12 Virginia (3-3, 0-2 ACC) on Saturday (Feb. 27) at Boshamer Stadium.

No. 12 Virginia (3-2, 0-1 ACC) dropped the opening game of a three-game set, 3-2 at the hands of North Carolina (5-0, 1-0 ACC) at Boshamer Stadium on Thursday (Feb. 25).

No. 14 Virginia (3-1) scored 14 runs on 14 hits in a 14-3 win over VMI (0-1) in midweek action at Disharoon Park on Tuesday.

This weekend’s baseball series between Virginia and North Carolina scheduled to take place in Chapel Hill, N.C. will now begin on Thursday due to inclement weather in the weekend forecast.

No. 14 Virginia (2-1) did not allow an earned run and eight of the nine batters in the starting lineup recorded a hit in a 4-2, series clinching win over UConn (1-2) on Sunday at Disharoon Park.

Down three runs going into the bottom of the ninth, No. 14 Virginia (1-1) got the tying run to third base but was unable to knot the score in a 10-9 loss to UConn at Disharoon Park on Saturday. 

Virginia relief pitcher Stephen Schoch was one of 45 players named to the initial watch list for the 16th Annual National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award, given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I Baseball.

Virginia baseball was built on the foundation of strong pitching and solid defense. Both had a major impact on the Cavaliers’ opening-day win over visiting UConn on Friday.

In a poll of the Atlantic Coast Conference baseball coaches, Virginia was picked to finish second in the ACC Coastal Division. The Cavaliers were also one of three teams to receive votes for the overall ACC preseason favorite.

The Virginia baseball program elected six new members to its Hall of Fame on Friday night (Jan. 29) at the program’s virtual Step Up to the Plate fundraising event. A formal induction ceremony will be announced at a later date.

Virginia was one of 12 schools in the country to have multiple players on the D1Baseball Preseason All-America team after outfielder Chris Newell (Newtown Square, Pa.) and relief pitcher Stephen Schoch (Laurel, Md.) were listed on the first and third teams
