From Staff Reports

Virginia has added a tight end to its 2026 transfer portal recruiting class in former Stanford and New Mexico State player Lukas Ungar.
Ungar is a 6-foot-4, 245-pound tight end with one year of eligibility remaining. A former 4-star prospect out of high school in Mendham, N.J., he is UVA’s 28th addition from the portal.
Last season at New Mexico State, Ungar had three receptions for 14 yards.
He previously played five seasons at Stanford, but did not appear in any games in 2024. Over the four seasons that he did play for the Cardinal, he played in 17 total games. His best season was his senior year in 2023 when he played in nine contests. He also played in seven games as a sophomore in 2021 with one start.
Ungar is the second tight end UVA acquired through the portal, having previously brought in Connor Cox from North Carolina.
