Charlottesville 4-star guard commits to Syracuse
By Jerry Ratcliffe
Wasn’t a lot of drama surrounding St. Anne’s-Belfield guard Justin Taylor’s commitment to Syracuse on Saturday afternoon.
The 6-foot-6, 4-star wing from Charlottesville, was predicted to commit to Jim Boeheim’s program for quite some time as Taylor chose the Orange over hometown Virginia, North Carolina, Indiana and Virginia Tech.
Recruiting observers speculated that once Virginia landed 4-star combo guard Isaac McKneely out of Poca, W.Va., that the Cavaliers would be out of the running for Taylor.
Rated the No. 84 player nationally in the class of 2022 by 247Sports’ composite rankings (he’s No. 54 in 247’s rankings), Syracuse is expected Taylor to play the shooting guard position, the same spot as McKneely is projected for UVA.
