Coughlin in ‘free to public’ exhibition match at Keswick Club on Wednesday

Want a close-up view of one of the LPGA’s top players and support the UVA women’s golf team at the same time?

All you have to do is show up at Keswick Club on Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 3) at 3 p.m. for a free to the public exhibition match that pits Cavalier alums and current players in a 12-hole match at the Full Cry course.

Former Virginia standout Lauren Coughlin, a two-time champion on the LPGA Tour, is the headliner as she will team with present UVA junior golfer Mira Berglund from Sweden to take on alum Lauren Greenlief and present UVA sophomore Kennedy Swedick of Albany, N.Y., in the exhibition.

Coughlin enjoyed a breakthrough season on the LPGA Tour in 2024, capturing two titles and raising her ranking to the No. 3 American golfer. She was also a key member of the victorious U.S. team in the Solheim Cup last fall. Coughlin signed a deal with Keswick Club in the offseason to represent the club and wears the Keswick logo during her matches. She has five top-15 finishes in 17 events this season on Tour, including a pair of top-3 finishes.

Greenlief played for UVA in 2011-12, chose a business career over professional golf and won three state Virginia (VSGA) titles in addition to the 2015 U.S. Women’s Mid-Am championship.

Wednesday’s exhibition begins on the front nine, in addition to three holes on the back: Nos. 10, 11 and 18.

Again, this event is free to the public.
