The Virginia field hockey team will be the No.4 seed in the 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship, being held next week at Turf Field in Charlottesville.

The Cavaliers (11-5, 3-3 ACC) will face 5-seed Syracuse (10-6, 2-4) on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the opening match of the tournament. The winner of that game will advance to play top-seeded North Carolina (12-3, 5-1 ACC) on Wednesday at 1 p.m. The championship match is set for Friday at 7 p.m.

Virginia finished in a tie for third place with Louisville, but the Cardinals won the tiebreaker vis a win in the head-to-head match-up to secure the three-seed.

All of the tournament games will air on the ACC Network and stream online on ACCNX.

This is the eighth time the championship is taking place in Charlottesville and the first time since 2015.

Admission is free for the 2023 ACC Championship. All seating is general admission, first come, first served. Parking is also free at John Paul Jones Arena.
