First Tee-Blue Ridge holding putting challenge; offers raffle for Pebble Beach/Pinehurst
By Jerry Ratcliffe
First Tee-Blue Ridge will host a putting challenge at Birdwood Golf Course at Boar’s Head Resort on Thursday night, and families or groups of friends are invited to come out and join the fun.
Derek Norberg, the new director of the local chapter, notes that 175 participants turned out last year, a fun activity for all ages. The event is from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. UVA women’s golf coach Ria Scott will make a special guest appearance.
Food and beverages and raffle prizes for hole-in-one putts are available.
Birdwood will showcase its massive putting green behind the clubhouse with various putting challenges.
Come out and support a great cause in First Tee-Blue Ridge.
The organization (see First Tee-Blue Ridge website on this site for programming and other information), is also holding its “Great American Golf Trip” raffle, and if you love golf, there are some dream bucket-list opportunities.
The raffle has added trips for four to Pebble Beach (including golf at Cyprus and Spy Glass) or Pinehurst resort (including a round at No. 2), or the winner can opt out for a $10,000 cash prize.
Only 500 tickets are available at $100 per entry. This is an important fundraiser for First Tee-Blue Ridge, which helps area youth become better versions of themselves.
