Virginia is in the market for a point guard now that Reece Beekman made it official on Wednesday that he is entering the NBA Draft and foregoing his final year of eligibility.

The Cavaliers got some welcomed news also on Wednesday when McDonald’s All-American point guard Trent Perry of Los Angeles announced he will visit UVA this weekend. Perry is a 6-foot-4, 4-star from Harvard-Westlake High School.

Perry had originally committed to Southern Cal, but decommitted recently when Trojans coach Andy Enfield left USC to take over the basketball program at SMU. At that point, Perry reopened his recruitment and has been contacted by a number of Power Five programs.

He is rated the No. 26 overall prospect in the nation by ESPN, No. 41 by On3 and No. 50 by 247Sports.

At this point, UVA is his only scheduled visit. Perry has also been contacted by Oregon, Alabama, Tennessee, Villanova, TCU, Oklahoma, UCLA and others. He is also still considering USC.
