Odom said Virginia will sport new uniforms

Virginia basketball will have a new look this season, not just with the coaching staff, style of play and personnel, but in uniforms.

Ryan Odom is an admitted “gear guy,” so he puts a lot of thought into how his team should look. Odom said Wednesday that UVA will have five new uniforms this season, two designed by Nike and three more of his choosing.

“We’re a Nike Elite team, so we’ll always have the two (uniforms) that are created by Nike,” Odom said. “We don’t really have a choice in the way those are designed. That’s a Nike thing.”

However, beyond those two sets of unis, Virginia had the opportunity to add its own imagination into how the Cavaliers will look, but, shhhh … Odom’s not telling. At least not yet.

“We have added three new uniforms in addition to the two (Nike sets),” Odom said. “I can’t tell you what they look like just yet, but I’m sure there’ll be some sort of release at some point.”
