Virginia is one of several basketball programs to have reached out to former Georgia Tech four-star commitment Blue Cain, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Knoxville, Tenn.

Cain, who played this past season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., signed with the Yellow Jackets last November and was Tech’s lone recruit when he asked out of his National Letter of Intent following the dismissal of coach Josh Pastner.

Since then, the floodgates have opened on Cain’s reopened recruitment. UVA, Kansas, Florida, Auburn, Georgia, South Carolina, Nebraska and others have already reached out to Cain, who said he will begin taking visits after the Geico Nationals (March 30-April 1), which features some of the top private-school teams in the nation.

Prior to signing with Georgia Tech, Cain was offered by Tennessee, Houston, Syracuse, Maryland, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech and others.

Virginia could certainly use Blue, who can play and score from multiple positions and is not only considered a playmaker, but also regarded as one of the top shooters in the country.

While Cain is ranked No. 87 in the 247Sports composite list (No 12 shooting guard and No. 9 overall recruit in the state of Florida), he jumped to the No. 77 overall prospect in the nation on ESPN’s Top 100. You can check out some of Cain’s recent highlights below.
