Virginia needed to restock its secondary through the transfer portal and did just that with an impressive haul of experienced talent.
Cornerbacks coach ShaDon Brown wasn’t shy when it came to touting what the Cavaliers landed and creating enough depth so that UVA can rotate players to keep its defensive backfield fresh late in games.
“We went shopping in the portal for a reason,” Brown said. “We wanted to get a few more tools in the toolbox and so if we’ve got all those tools, we’re going to use them. If we’ve got three, if we’ve got four, the guys that have earned the opportunity to play, need to play.”
