The Virginia men’s basketball team looks to extend its winning streak this week, hosting a pair of ACC contests: tonight vs. Pitt (9 p.m., ACC Network) and Saturday vs. Syracuse (Noon, ESPN). The No. 18 Cavaliers emerged victorious with come-from-behind wins against Notre Dame and Boston College on the road last week, after dropping just their third game under first-year head coach Ryan Odom. You can also catch both games on the Virginia Sports Radio Network.
First-year forward Thijs De Ridder was named ACC Player of the Week on Monday (as well as the conference’s Rookie of the Week), after averaging 24.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the two games, including a career-high 32 points in the double-overtime thriller against the Fighting Irish.
The UVA women’s basketball team will also be hosting two games this week: Thursday vs. Miami (7 p.m., ACCNX) and Sunday vs. Notre Dame (2 p.m., ACCNX). Coach Mox’s squad will be looking to bounce back from a tough loss in Blacksburg Sunday, as the regular season begins to wind down. Both of the women’s games can be heard on 98.9 FM and 1070 AM.
The top-ranked women’s swimming & diving team will be in action at the Aquatic & Fitness Center, as they and the 21st-ranked men’s team host the three-day Cavalier Invitational, which marks the last regular-season event for both squads, and the final chance for individual swimmers to qualify for postseason events. Prelims will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday, while the finals will be decided at 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The UVA softball team kicks off its season this weekend at the Kickin’ Chicken Classic in Conway, S.C., hosted by Coastal Carolina.
