As predicted by national recruiting analysts, TJ Power announced this afternoon that he will play at Duke.

Power, a 6-foot-9 power forward from Worcester (Mass.) Academy, chose the Blue Devils over Virginia, North Carolina, Iowa and Boston College. UVA was considered the leader in the clubhouse for Power, who grew up a Cavaliers fan, until he exploded for 40 points during a summer tournament in Kansas City.

That’s when Duke, UNC, Kansas and UCLA offered. Power said receiving an offer from Duke was “surreal.” Immediately, Duke coach Jon Scheyer made Power his priority target for the Blue Devils’ final scholarship.
