The recruiting drama for four-star forward Milan Momcilovic is coming to a close this weekend.
Momcilovic, a 6-foot-8, skilled forward told On3 that he will announce his commitment on Saturday at 5 p.m. The Pewaukee, Wisc., product will choose between six schools: Iowa State, Virginia, Michigan State, UCLA, Louisville and Minnesota.
According to On3 national recruiting analyst Jamie Shaw, Iowa State is holding the winning hand. Shaw predicts the Cyclones have a 65-percent chance of gaining Momcilovic’s commitment, compared to Virginia at 25 percent, Michigan State 5 percent, and UCLA 5 percent.
It seems that Iowa State coach T.J. Otzelberger and his staff have been on Momcilovic the earliest and heaviest throughout the process. Momcilovic has visited Iowa State several times and either Otzelberger or his staff have visited Momcilovic a half-dozen times.
UVA has worked hard on the nation’s consensus No. 44 overall player (On3’s evaluation) as well, and Momcilovic has visited Charlottesville during the process. Cavalier freshman Leon Bond, who is from the nearby Milwaukee area, has also been working hard in attempting to lure the forward to UVA.
