Turner signs pro contract with Peru’s Club Regatas Lima

Virginia outside hitter Grace Turner has signed a professional contract to with Club Regatas Lima as was announced on Monday. The club, which is based in Lima, Peru, is part the Volleyball Superior National League.
“I could not be more excited to start my professional career with Regatas Lima,” said Turner. “This has been something I have dreamed about since I was a kid. To know that my Virginia Volleyball family has helped me grow and learn in the sport and helped me achieve this goal is beyond humbling. I cannot wait to get started.”
Turner is set to begin training with the club at the end of December.
In 2022, Turner was named a Second Team All-ACC recipient, marking Virginia’s first all-conference selection since 2016. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Turner led the team and is currently eighth in the ACC in kills per set (3.45) and points per set (4.11). She also led the Cavaliers and is sixth in the league in aces per set (0.38). Turner finished the season with 397 total kills, the most by a UVA player in a single season since 2016. She also served up 44 aces on the season, the most by a Cavalier since 2013. Turner posted four double-doubles in 2022 and notched four 20-kill matches, including a career-best 24 kills at Boston College (Nov. 4).
She posted 19 kills in the Cavaliers’ sweep over Virginia Tech (Nov. 11), the most kills by a UVA player in a three-set match since 2013, which also stand at No. 5 in program history among three-set contests. Turner also recorded a career-high 30.5 points against North Carolina (Sept. 25) with the help of a career-best six service aces. Her six aces against the Tar Heels tied for eighth all-time in UVA history and tied for second among five-set matches. Turner was named Xavier Tournament MVP on Sept. 3 after leading the Cavaliers to a 3-0 weekend with wins over the Musketeers, Purdue Fort Wayne and Eastern Michigan. She was also named to UVA’s all-tournament team on Sept. 17.
For her career, Turner totaled 959 kills, 101 service aces, 609 digs and 157 total blocks, including 20 block solos. In 2021, she was named an All-ACC Academic selection.
Turner earned her undergraduate degree from UVA in Sociology in 2021 and is set to receive her master’s degree in Educational Psychology–Social Foundations later this month.
