It hasn’t taken new UVA offensive line coach Terry Heffernan long to fit into the recruiting scene.

Last week, Heffernan landed a commitment from Dayton’s Brian Stevens, the top-graded blocker in the entire FCS last season. This week, Heffernan struck a little closer to home, gaining a commitment from Lake Braddock offensive lineman Benjamin York.

York is a 6-foot-5, 286-pound offensive tackle prospect from Burke, a 3-star, rated the No. 29 overall recruit in the state by 247Sports.

York chose Virginia’s offer over Appalachian State, Monmouth, Kent State, ODU and Temple.

He is the second in-state commitment for the Cavaliers in this class, along with Ethan Minter, an “athlete” from Thomas Dale High in Chester.
