While veteran Virginia free safety Joey Blount spent some time in the medical tent after he hit the turf, holding his left knee late in Virginia’s 38-20 win over Duke Saturday night, it appeared after the game that he is OK.

“Joey gave me the thumbs up,” Bronco Mendenhall told media in a postgame interview. “He’s doing an interview, standing right across the hall.”

Blount, who slowly walked off the field after the game without any assistance from teammates, told WINA Radio that he was fine.

The senior finished the game with seven tackles, an interception, a forced fumble and a tackle for loss, along with one pass broken up.
