Virginia gained its 14th commitment to the 2024 football recruiting class on Saturday when St. Christopher’s (Richmond) athlete Henry Omohundro announced on Twitter that he will play for the Cavaliers.

Omohundro, whose father, Buddy, was a two-time, All-ACC defensive back for George Welsh, and whose brother, Elby, is an All-ACC track and field performer at UVA, chose the Cavaliers over offers from Penn, Brown, Harvard and Davidson. He has not yet been rated by the recruiting services.

At 6-foot-3, 240 pounds, Omohundro is a true athlete. He’s played defensive end and running back at St. Chris, and also plays lacrosse and throws the shot put and discus for his track team. He is a captain of the football and lacrosse team and a two-time, all-state football selection.

His dad, Buddy, attended UVA between 1989 and ‘91, playing for some of Welsh’s best teams. Omahundro’s grandfather, Carl, played football at Virginia Tech.
