Virginia has seriously joined the hunt for Top-40 basketball prospect Dallan “Deebo” Coleman.

Coach Tony Bennett had a second virtual meeting this week with Coleman, who holds offers from five other ACC schools including Louisville, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and Clemson. Coleman also has been offered by Ohio State, Memphis, Ole Miss, Georgetown, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Alabama and Florida.

Coleman is a 4-star, a consensus Top-70 prospect, but rated the No. 48 overall prospect in the Class of 2021 by at least one service and the 10th-best shooting guard in the country.

The 6-foot-6, 195-pounder appears to be a complete player, something that likely drew Bennett to the Florida resident. Coleman averaged 25.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.9 steals per game as a junior for West Nassau County High School last season. He also shot 48 percent from the field, 46 percent from the 3-point line, and 73 percent on free throws.

Coleman said that the factors that will be weighed heavily in his decision will be his relationship with coaches, player development, available minutes and the program’s system. He likes to run.

There doesn’t appear to be a deadline for him trimming his list or making a commitment at this point.
