What a great move by Ryan Odom to bring legendary player Malcolm Brogdon into the Virginia basketball program, announced Tuesday morning.
One of the most popular crowd favorites during the Tony Bennett era, Brogdon was a three-time All-ACC player, an All-American, the league’s Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year before carving out an outstanding career in the NBA.
I don’t exactly know what a Strategic Advisor’s role entails, but I know one thing. Brogdon will do it better than anyone expects because he’s that kind of guy.
After a nine-year NBA career with five different teams, impacted by injuries, Brogdon, who turned 33 last December, retired after last season. Now, he’s turned his attention to the administrative side of basketball, at least for now as he returns to the college game.
