IN THE RANKINGS
- Virginia (3-0, 0-0) currently is tied for the lead in the ACC and fourth in the NCAA in draw controls per game. UVA is averaging 20.67 draws and has won the draw battle in two of its three games.
- The Cavaliers lead the ACC in shots per game (41.33) and are second in free position percentage (.583).
DRAW SPECIALIST TO SAY THE LEAST
- Junior Aubrey Williams took over UVA’s draw control duties as a sophomore in 2022. During that season Williams emerged as one of the best draw specialists in school history.
- Williams set a UVA single season record with 149 draw controls.
- This season, Williams leads the team with 29 draws and grabbed a season-high 13 at Princeton.
SHARING SCHWAB
- Junior Morgan Schwab is second in the ACC and fifth nationally with eight assists this season.
- Schwab had a season-high five assists against Princeton.
- She set a career-high and matched a UVA single-game record with seven assists in the NCAA First Round against USC.
- Schwab was second all-time in school history among sophomores with 36 assists in 2022.
A ONE-TWO PUNCH ON ATTACK
- UVA has had six different goal scorers in each of the first three contests this season.
- That helps open the options of UVA’s top two attackers, graduate student Ashlyn McGovern and sophomore Rachel Clark.
- McGovern ranks eighth all-time at UVA with 154 career goals and Clark is quickly approaching the top 10 with 77 career goals.
- Either Clark or McGovern have led UVA in goals in each of the first three games and both have scored multiple through all three games.
