The No. 15 Virginia women’s tennis team notched a 4-0 win at Florida State on Friday at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center in Tallahassee.
No. 4 Melodie Collard and Vivian Yang began the action with a dominant 6-1 win on the top doubles court. Florida State (4-11, 0-5 ACC) earned a 6-2 victory on court three, but Virginia (12-4, 5-0) ultimately took the point after No. 36 Annabelle Xu and Martina Genis Salas notched a 6-4 win on two.
In singles play, freshman Kaitlyn Rolls cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 win on three to put the Hoos up 2-0. No. 108 Isabelle Lacy then won 6-3, 6-1 on four before junior Blanca Pico Navarro clinched the match for Virginia with her 7-5, 6-2 win on six.
