Virginia basketball legend Wally Walker will appear on the “Jerry & Jerry Show,” live on Tuesday morning (Jan 9) at 10:10 a.m. on your favorite social media/podcast platform.

Walker joined the UVA athletics department as a deputy AD last year, but has only recently relocated from Seattle to Charlottesville. He now serves as chief revenue officer in collaboration with Virginia athletics external affairs.

What that translates to is that Walker is responsible for fostering relationships and strategic partnerships with Cav Futures, Cav Futures Foundation, multi-media rights holder PlayFly/Virginia Sports Properties and the Virginia Athletics Foundation (VAF) in order to maximize revenue generation.

He also serves as officer of major gifts in collaboration with the VAF, the major athletic fundraising arm of the department.

Walker is one of the most celebrated basketball players in UVA history, the hero of the “Miracle in Landover,” when Terry Holland’s Cavaliers knocked off three nationally-ranked opponents in three nights to capture the school’s first ACC Tournament championship in 1976.

He went on to capture two NBA championships, then later became president and CEO of the Seattle SuperSonics. Walker also served on the UVA Board of Visitors.

In these rapidly changing times of college athletics with conference realignment, NIL, transfer portal and more, Virginia fans certainly don’t want to miss this episode of the show, which attracts 20,000 or more live viewers each week over a 14-state audience in addition to every corner of the Commonwealth. Mark your calendars.
