Wahoos in the mix for another PSA Cardinal prospect, N.J. guard Adams

Another day, another Virginia basketball offer.

After extending three offers to Class of 2025 prospects earlier in the week, Tony Bennett presented another offer to New Jersey-bred guard Darius Adams, a 4-star recruit. Adams acknowledged the offer Thursday afternoon, making him the seventh prospect offered by UVA from the ‘25 class.

Like many of the others (see related articles about those offers on this site and a Cavaliers recruiting chart at the end of this article), Adams’ reputation grew during the spring/summer EYBL and invitational circuit.

It should be noted, Adams is the third player from the PSA Cardinals EYBL team to be offered by Virginia. Christian Bliss, who committed to UVA a few weeks ago, is one of those along with Matthew Hodge, and now Adams.

A 6-foot-4 combo guard, Adams is being recruited by UVA as a point guard. He and his family recently made an unofficial visit to Virginia. Adams’ father, Dennis, played against former Wahoo point guard John Crotty back in high school on the Jersey Shore. Adams’ sister, Destiny, plays at UNC.

Originally from Manasquan, N.J., where he was the top-ranked player in the state in his class, Adams has transferred to La Lumiere School, a prep school in Indiana, for his final two years of high school.

He is rated No. 19 nationally at any position for his class by 247Sports, who also rates him the No. 4 combo guard in the country in ‘25 and the No. 2 prospect overall in the state of Indiana. On3 rates him No. 36, 12 and 1, respectively.

Adams holds an impressive list of offers, a list that will certainly grow: Florida State, St. John’s, Syracuse, Providence, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Penn State, Washington and Virginia Tech.
