The college basketball world has gone crazy over Virginia’s Kymora Johnson and rightfully so. The home-grown point guard has fueled the Cavaliers to their first Sweet Sixteen appearance in a quarter century and has been spectacular along the way.
In UVA’s stunning, double-overtime upset over Iowa last weekend, Johnson scored 28 points _ 14 of them in overtime _ and never came out of the game, clocking the entire 50 minutes.
The win capped Virginia’s three games in five days, becoming the first “First Four” to reach the Sweet Sixteen. UVA (22-11) is the No. 10 seed and now faces No. 3 seed TCU (31-5) on Saturday (7:30 p.m. Eastern, ESPN).
