Trey Murphy III is a Wahoo.

The 6-foot-8 transfer from Rice University announced on his Twitter account Monday afternoon that he is committing to Virginia.

Murphy, who has two years of eligibility remaining, averaged 13.7 points and 5.5 rebounds for Rice this past season. He also established himself as a solid 3-point shooter.

The Durham, N.C., native will have to sit out the 2020-21 season unless he can gain a waiver from the NCAA.

Murphy chose Virginia over Villanova, Pitt and Houston.
