Turner collects double-double in 3-1 loss to Boston College

Virginia volleyball (8-15, 1-12 ACC) senior outside hitter Grace Turner earned her first double-double of the season after posting a team-high 15 kills and 12 digs in the Cavaliers’ four-set loss (25-17, 24-26, 17-25, 28-30) to Boston College (14-13, 4-9 ACC) inside Memorial Gymnasium Friday evening. Turner posted eight of her 15 kills in a tightly-contested fourth set, which required extra points to determine the result of the match.

Virginia also received a strong performance from middle blocker Alana Walker, who notched a season-high 13 kills, hit .462 and posted a match-high eight blocks. The Cavaliers out-blocked Boston College 13.0 to 5.0, marking the 15th match this season UVA has led an opponent in blocks.

Boston College outside hitter Clare Naughton was instrumental in the Eagles’ victory as she posted a match-high 21 kills on 48 swings, while hitting .327.
