Basketball
- Virginia officially signed Belgian forward Thijs De Ridder to a basketball grant-in-aid on Wednesday, according to a post by Coach Ryan Odom.
- There was a twinkle in Ryan Odom’s eyes this week when he described Virginia’s big men in what could be one of the ACC’s most dominating frontcourts.
- During the first summer press conference by a Virginia basketball coach since at least 2008, Ryan Odom shared his thoughts on how the Cavaliers will play this season.
- All the pieces aren’t quite in place yet, but Ryan Odom and his staff are pressing on with summer workouts in building chemistry with their new Virginia team.
- The long-awaited arrival of Thijs De Ridder is over. Virginia has signed the 6-foot-8 Belgian star, although he and the Cavaliers are continuing to wait eligibility clearance by the NCAA.
Baseball
- Seven players from Virginia’s 2025 roster were selected in the MLB Draft, while R.J. Holmes withdrew from the draft process and remained committed to UVA.
- This is a huge get for Chris Pollard and the Wahoos as they continue to build a formidable pitching staff for the 2026 season.
- Virginia’s pitching staff has continued to grow with the addition of veteran Oklahoma State southpaw Ryan Ure, who announced via his Twitter account that he is a Cavalier.
- Bo Lowrance announced that he will be a Cavalier, flipping his commitment to follow Chris Pollard from Durham to Charlottesville.
- According to a Knoxville News Sentinel report, former Virginia pitcher Evan Blanco has committed to Tennessee.

- Tony Elliott’s Wahoos landed their second in-state prospect in two days on Monday when Varina wide receiver Da’Mari Carter announced his commitment to Virginia.
- Virginia beat out rival Virginia Tech for its first commitment from the 757 since 2014 when cornerback Jayden Covil announced that he will become a Cavalier.
- Indiana has backed out of a home-and-home football series that was scheduled for the 2027 and 2028 seasons according to a Bloomington Herald-Times report.
