Brennan Armstrong is one of 40 quarterbacks named to the official Davey O’Brien QB Class of 2021. The designation makes him eligible to be voted as one of 16 semifinalists for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award.

Apparently, Tech didn’t understand how much a defense pays when it leaves UVA wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks uncovered or attempts to defend him with single coverage.

Virginia (6-2, 4-2 ACC) will play its final non-conference road game when it travels to No. 25 BYU (6-2) on Saturday night (Oct. 30). The game is scheduled to kick off on ESPN2 at 10:15 EST.

The obvious sidebar to Virginia’s visit to BYU on Saturday night is Bronco Mendenhall’s return to Provo, where he was head coach of the Cougars for 11 seasons (assistant for two).

Virginia wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Wide Receiver of the Week for the second-straight week. It marks the third time this season a Virginia pass catcher has been honored by the league.

Seems like every game Brennan Armstrong plays, he sends the record-keepers reaching for the White Out. As his eye-popping numbers continue to swell, so do the accolades, the reputation.

Riding its longest conference winning streak since 2011, Virginia is starting to catch the eye of the nation’s football poll voters.

Let’s just call this Virginia offense what it is: “Dr. Bob’s Flying Circus.” Get your game tickets while they’re hot.
